Success Stories
We know having nutrition knowledge does not always lead to nutrition know-how! We make sure that we account for individual differences, such as lifestyle, food tolerance and personal food preferences. The following are some of our client’s success stories.
Nutrition Matters, LLC provided an essential component of a pilot corporate wellness program aimed at reducing the impact of Metabolic Syndrome in the workplace. This wellness program supplied employees with the tools to improve their health and prevent further medical complications. The following are individual testimonials from some of the participants of this program:
Lew P.

Before After
Lew has made significant changes in his diet and lifestyle. Over the course of 3 months, Lew has lost approximately 29 pounds, 4 inches from his waist, and reduced his blood pressure and total cholesterol while increasing the heart protecting "good" cholesterol. Lew achieved this by decreasing portion sizes specifically of meat, eating more vegetables and fruits, cutting out soda and exercising for approximately 35-45 minutes, 5 days a week. Lew states his motivation for making changes was that he was starting to feel the effects of being overweight; feeling winded after climbing stairs and had discomfort in his knees. He also was not happy with the way he looked and wanted to improve his self-image. Since making the lifestyle changes, Lew reports that all of his symptoms have improved. Lew intends to maintain this lifestyle for the long-term, and he states that he indulges occasionally when he goes out to dinner or while on vacation.
Way to Go Lew! Keep up the good work!!
Margaret G.
"The dietitian's advice was also helpful and focused more on lifestyle changes, such as healthier snacks and smaller portions, rather than crash dieting."
"I never felt frustrated, but I am definitely more cognizant of my eating habits. Even when I am shopping, I try and buy healthier foods with more fiber, and that are lower in fat"
"It's important to be healthier as you get older if you want to live longer. Small adjustments in your lifestyle can really make a difference"
Margaret’s measured results included a modest weight loss, stating clothing is more comfortable, and she feels better overall. Margaret also had cardiovascular benefits, such as a decrease in both systolic blood pressure (15%), and diastolic blood pressure (7%), and a reduction in total cholesterol (17%).
Mr. David Liu
His dietitian suggested a reduced-calorie intake and helped him modify his eating habits, particularly during times he was traveling or eating out (which he reported doing several times a week with friends).
He had this to say:
“I started seeing improvements in just one week – I didn’t feel as sluggish, was having less headaches, and my wind [breathing] improved.
“By following the recommendations of the doctors, fitness center and dietician, my cholesterol dropped 42 points.”
David also lost an average of 12 pounds of fat and replaced this with muscle.
