Meet the Dietitians

Linda R. McLachlan, MA, RD, CDN  [download Linda's Bio]
Linda is the founder and director of Nutrition Matters, LLC. She has an Associates degree in Business Management, a Bachelors Degree in Dietetics and a Masters degree in Nutrition Education. She is certified in Adult Weight Management by the American Dietetics Association. She has been involved in research on metabolic syndrome and diabetes. She has shared her talents with the community on numerous occasions lecturing on Women's Health, Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis, and Healthy Eating for Children to name a few.

Her experiences through the years vary from Director of a hospital Foodservice Department, Clinical Dietitian, and Nutrition Education Consultant for many fortune 500 companies. She was the 2004 Speaker for the NJ State Association of Occupational Health Nurses Annual Meeting. Linda was a key member of the design and implementation of Sodexho’s exclusive wellness program. For many years, Linda was a certified instructor with the National Restaurant Association teaching their Serve Safe certification program throughout New York and New Jersey. 

She has written articles for several different health and wellness websites and is a regular contributor to Fitness magazine online, DietingPlans.com and RestaurantEdge.com. Additionally, Linda has responded to on-line chats in the “Chat with a Dietitian” section of dietingplans.com.

Her extensive background in food, nutrition and finance blends well with Linda’s passion for coaching individuals to make healthy lifestyle changes.

 

Marti Austin, MA, RD, CDN [download Marti’s Bio]
Marti earned a Bachelors degree in both Business and Dietetics, and completed a Masters degree in Nutrition Education. She has also earned her Certification by the American Dietetic Association in Adult Weight Management.

Marti has extensive experience in the corporate world as a successful business executive. She worked as a top Buyer for a major retail corporation responsible for planning and directing numerous corporate programs and meetings.

She eventually left the corporate world to pursue her passions in the field of nutrition. Marti has since traveled to Shanghai, China where she spent six weeks in an education program learning about Chinese nutrition, diet and culture. She has experience counseling clients who have undergone gastric bypass surgery. She maintains her specialization in weight management through ongoing continued education.

Marti’s multi-discipline education and years of experience in corporate marketing and management combine well with her knowledge of nutrition, wellness and exercise. She leads by example, always with a passion to live life to the fullest! When you meet Marti, you will see that she has proven herself as a well qualified professional with the skills necessary to facilitate and accomplish successful programs.

 

Andrea L. Panaccione, MS, RD, CSSD [download Andrea's Bio]
Andrea has a Bachelors degree in Dietetics and a Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition. She is also a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics.  Andrea has earned American Dietetic Association Certification in Pediatric, Adolescent, and Adult Weight Management as well. 

Andrea has experience in counseling all populations.  Her special interests include weight management and behavior change, wellness, cardiovascular health, diabetes, and sports nutrition.  She has been a nutrition volunteer for the NJ Summer Olympics, the NJ Marathon Health and Fitness Expo, the ING NYC Marathon, and the Philadelphia Marathon.  She was previously the clinical nutritionist for the Princeton Longevity Center and the Rothman Institute.  As a past competitive gymnast and swimmer, Andrea believes you are what you eat and practices what she preaches by eating well and exercising daily.

 

Gina Kessler, RD [download Gina's Bio]
Gina received a Bachelors degree in Public Policy Administration before completing the didactic program and internship in Nutrition.  Prior to becoming a registered dietitian, she worked in the field of market research, organizing focus groups of consumers to discuss their opinions of new products before the item entered the market.

As a dietitian, she has worked with patients undergoing rehabilitation after life changing illness and injury, helping patients and families heal and move on to a better quality of life.  She went on to obtain her certificate in Pediatric and Adolescent Weight Management and enjoys working with children and families to promote healthy living for the entire household.  She has focused much of her recent work in the field of diabetes, counseling individuals and families along with teaching classes on managing blood sugar through diet and exercise.

As a counselor, she listens to her clients' needs and tailors each plan to meet those needs.  She gets great satisfaction from the success of her clients.  Practicing what she preaches is important to her, as she is dedicated to exercise and eating healthy without depriving herself from the good things in life.  She also enjoys sampling cuisines from around the world.

 

Lynne Kurzweil, RD [download Lynne's Bio]
Lynne has a Bachelors degree in Sociology and then completed her Didactic Program in Dietetics and Internship to become a registered dietitian.  She worked for a number of years as a Clinical Dietitian at Mountainside Hospital providing medical nutrition therapy to patients with a range of health issues including heart disease, renal disease, diabetes, digestive disorders, as well as other conditions.  More recently, she held the position of Nutrition Coordinator at the Center for Advanced Bariatric Surgery where she worked closely with the medical team in an outpatient setting to provide individualized support to patients before and after surgery.  Lynne is certified by the American Dietetic Association in Adult Weight Management and in Child and Adolescent Weight Management.  Her experience and enthusiasm combined with a practical and realistic approach helps her clients make the necessary lifestyle changes to achieve their goals.

 

Kathleen Siegel, RD [download Kathleen's Bio]
Kathy received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management before completing a didactic program and internship in Nutrition.  She has also completed numerous graduate courses in Clinical Nutrition.  Kathy is certified in Child, Adolescent and Adult Weight Management by the American Dietetic Association.

Kathy has extensive experience in clinical nutrition working for multiple hospital systems throughout the New Jersey and Philadelphia areas.  She is the past President of the Central District New Jersey Dietetic Association.  She has provided lecture series on nutrition education to medical and nursing staffs as well as medical and dietetic students.  Additionally, she has provided community nutrition lectures on various nutrition topics including Women's Health, Childhood Nutrition, Cardiovascular Health and Diabetes.

Kathy's vision focuses on providing families with the necessary nutritional tools, education and motivation in order to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
